Food Bank Provision

In partnership with Feeding Families, we operate a food bank every Friday. This service is specifically designed to support the Roma Gypsy and Kurdish communities in Gateshead. Each week, we distribute essential food items and household supplies to those in need. Our food bank not only helps alleviate food insecurity but also fosters a sense of community and solidarity among participants.

Advice and Guidance

Every Thursday, in collaboration with the Gateshead Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB), we offer advice, information, and guidance sessions. These sessions are predominantly targeted at Eastern European migrants and other refugees. Our team of experienced advisors provides support on a range of issues, including housing, employment, benefits, and legal matters, helping individuals navigate the complexities of life in a new country.

El Salvador Group

The El Salvador Group gathers every Sunday, offering emotional support and social interaction for its members. This group is a vital resource for those seeking a sense of belonging and community. Participants can share their experiences, receive support, and build lasting relationships in a safe and understanding environment.

Kurdish and Arabic Ladies Group

Our Kurdish and Arabic Ladies Group meets every Saturday, providing a welcoming space for women to connect, share experiences, and support each other. The group engages in various activities, such as chatting, making handicrafts, sharing meals, and dancing. These gatherings offer a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange and community building, promoting friendship and mutual support among participants.

Community Advice and Guidance Sessions

Held every Tuesday and Wednesday, our Community Advice and Guidance Sessions are primarily aimed at asylum seekers and refugees. These sessions provide crucial information and support on various aspects of daily life, helping individuals to understand their rights, access services, and integrate more smoothly into the local community. Our goal is to empower attendees with the knowledge and resources they need to build a better future.

Training for Community Leaders

We conduct regular training sessions for leaders of small refugee and migrant-led groups. These sessions are designed to equip community leaders with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively organize and carry out activities tailored to their respective communities. Our training covers areas such as project management, leadership skills, fundraising, and community engagement, ensuring that leaders are well-prepared to support and uplift their communities.
